We are living incredible times. The mix of cultures & generations is becoming more interesting. Somehow, the millennial generation has made a huge impact on the older generations by sharing easier ways to connect with collaborators and clients.
Last week, we had an agency lunch with the vaqueros. We had some good enchiladas at “El Fogoncito”, here in Dallas. El mejor restaurante Mexicano en Dallas, sin duda! We talked for an hour about our memories on the internet, back in the 1980´s and 1990´s. It was so funny. The time we used to spend over the internet was not even 6 hours per day. It was an additional component of our lives & businesses. I remember doing my homework with best bud, the Encyclopedia Encarta; and sending emails from my yahoo account. Before going to sleep, I left my favorite songs downloading from Napster. All night long sometimes, connection speed was slow. Business websites were simple and pretty basic.
After the year 2000, the power of the internet became more visible to all of us. Moving from compact discs to on cloud-based platforms has been a huge technological step in this process.
With channels like Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Pinterest or Linked in and their daily transformations, it has become a no-brainer to invest in a good digital marketing strategy to increase your business potential. And that´s why it is so important for you to understand the power of your website and your online tools.
Today, your website is more than a URL on your business card. It is way more than a link to your company´s contact information. It is your new digital front yard! So think about all the potential clients that are searching online after your services right now. I can bet you, there´s a lot of them just today.
The challenge is that many business decision makers still don´t get it. We call them “Barnaby´s” and I bet you probably know quite a few. It´s the classic old-style business owner/manager that thinks of digital marketing as a stupid trend for millennials. A “waste of time & money”. The funny thing is that they are willing to spend $10,000 on radio or a golf tournament sponsorship. But not on their website! If you identified yourself as Mr. Barnaby… well, just change your mindset and start learning simple techniques to improve your digital presence! And… if you really want to boost your business, just send an email with a general overview of your company to: email@example.com
#spanglish
Funny thing is… humans will be the same. Si te das cuenta, we haven´t changed in 2000 years. But technology is evolving fast! Las empresas ya empiezan a invertir en nuevas tendencias que hemos visto en SXSW como: face recognition, machine learning, artificial intelligence, predictive marketing and data science.
Let us be your digital agents. We think like partners and care about results.
