The Secret to Hispanic Marketing

Social media has evolved into an undeniable element in marketing. This is especially true when you look at Hispanic marketing. Hispanics, on average, spend about 4% more time on Facebook and Youtube than their non-Hispanic counterparts. They also spend 10% more time on Instagram, and 11% more time on Snapchat. This adds up to a lot more screen time. In turn, this can lead to more exposure for your brand if you know how to market yourself correctly.

 

 

One of the best ways to market yourself through social media is via video. As the landscape of social media continues to evolve, video content is going to continue to become more effective. Forbes even remarked, “it doesn’t take a crystal ball to see that video is the future.”

Why do videos work in Hispanic Marketing?

In a previous article, Vaquero Advertising mentioned that U.S. Hispanics spend around 66% more time watching videos on their phones compared to the total market. Facebook and Youtube are the two preferred platforms for video content. The content they pay most attention to reflects Hispanic culture and values. In fact, 73% of Hispanics are more likely to watch videos that capture the authenticity and essence of their community.

So what do we know? We know that Hispanics spend more time on social media. We know that they are avid video watchers. We know that they want to feel connected to their video content.

 

What do they do after watching the videos, though?

They share them.

Hispanics are five times more likely to share the content they consume on social than non-Hispanics. They are also twice as likely to actually purchase the products advertised in the content they’re sharing.

This is vital to know for Hispanic marketing.

With 59 million Hispanics living in the U.S., there is a huge market to tap into using video content. The important thing to keep in mind, though, is that you cannot just use any generic video content. The video has to speak to the Hispanic culture; they need to feel that connection before buying into and sharing your brand.
