Latino brands have been gaining a lot of attention in the U.S. not only because of the evergrowing Hispanic population living there but also across many other ethnicities and of course popular culture.
A strong influence of these products is also changing the way we think of marketing in the U.S., because now more than ever, Multicultural Marketing strategies need to be applied in order to accurately represent the culture, values, and language of the consumer, and the essence in the messaging of the brand.

Modelo Brewery
Mexican brewery Grupo Modelo exports beer to most countries over the globe, and it’s one of the largest in the world. Corona, Modelo, and Pacifico are some of their export brands. Additionally, Grupo Modelo produces brands that are only sold in Mexico and have exclusive rights in that country to import and distribute Anheuser-Busch beer. Grupo Modelo utilized red poppies in the majority of its advertising up to the 1960s. Their products and brands are widely distributed and recognized in the U.S., and have entered popular culture with slogans such as “Modelo Time”.

Jumex
Grupo Jumex, S.A. de C.V., also known as Jugos Mexicanos (Mexican Juices), is a Mexican brand of juice and nectar. Consumers that identify as Hispanic and live in the United States love the Jumex brand. Jumex is currently produced by the Jumex Group, which also sells brands of nectar, milk, smoothies, energy drinks, and sports drinks, as well as fresh and preserved fruit juices.In 1974 Jumex acquired the first evaporating machine in Mexico, marking a major technological breakthrough in the preservation of perishable products by producing juice concentrate that could be stored in containers. Jumex also contributed greatly in other packaging technologies, such as the process of electro-sealing using copper.

Corona
One of the most well-known beer brands in the world and the top-selling import in the US is Corona. Its brand is highly famous and it’s emblem is featured on various artifacts. In order to add tartness and flavor, it is frequently served with a wedge of lime or lemon in the bottleneck. The usual barley malt and hops used to make beer are combined with corn in the mash bill formula. The most well-known version of the brand is Corona Extra, a pale lager. It is one of the most popular beers in the world, and since 1998, Corona Extra has been the most popular imported beverage in the United States.

Jarritos
Don Francisco “El Güero” Hill established the Jarritos soft drink brand in Mexico in 1950. Novamex, a sizable independent bottling corporation with headquarters in Guadalajara, Jalisco, presently owns the brand. Compared to popular soft drinks, they are made with natural fruit flavors and have less carbonation. Spanish for “small jug,” “Jarrito” refers to the Mexican custom of drinking water and other beverages out of jugs made of clay pottery. They are only made in Mexico and distributed across the Americas.

Topo Chico
Topo-Chico is a brand of sparkling Mexican mineral water, both naturally and chemically carbonated at the source. Since 1895, Topo-Chico has originated in Monterrey, Mexico, and has been bottled there ever since. The Cerro del Topo Chico mountain, which is close to Monterrey, is where the drink gets its name. For $220 million, The Coca-Cola Company acquired Topo-Chico in 2017, spreading brand awareness throughout the United States after it initially enjoyed success in northern Mexico and Texas. The beverage has a cult status in popular culture on both sides of the border and the brand has won recognition for its design. A common beverage in Texas is Ranch Water, a cocktail mixed with tequila, lime juice, and Topo-Chico and served over ice.

Bimbo
Grupo Bimbo is a multinational corporation based in Mexico with operations in over 33 nations in the Americas, Europe, Asia, and Africa. It generates $15 billion in sales each year. On December 2, 1945, Grupo Bimbo opened its doors in Mexico City with 34 people. The name was created by fusing the names of Bambi and Dumbo. The Bimbo Bear, the brand’s mascot, was also developed in 1945 and is one of the most well-known mascots worldwide. Grupo Bimbo acquired Sara Lee during this decade, solidifying its position as the largest bakery firm worldwide.

Zara
Zara specializes in fast fashion and sells apparel, shoes, accessories, cosmetics, and fragrances. The headquarters are located in Arteixo, A Corua, Galicia. It is Inditex Group’s largest constituent brand, launching more than 20 new product lines annually in 2020. Amancio Ortega founded Zara in 1975. It offered low-cost imitations of well-liked, higher-end styles in clothes. He expanded his business in Spain and modified the design, manufacturing, and distribution processes in the 1980s to use information technology and teams of designers rather than lone designers in order to shorten lead times and respond more swiftly to emerging trends, which he dubbed “instant fashions.” The idea of fast fashion has now had a huge global impact.

Herdez
Herdez is likely the Mexican food company with the longest history in the nation, a market leader in the processed food industry, a major player in the Mexican ice cream market, and the Mexican food firm with the quickest rate of expansion in the US. The company that would later become Grupo Herdez was established in Monterrey, Mexico, in 1914, making it more than a century old. They are in charge of delivering plenty of Mexican cuisines, salsas, veggies, and spices to American tables, not just for Hispanics but for many other people as well.

La Victoria
La Victoria is a well-known American brand of Mexican food goods, particularly jarred and bottled salsas, despite not being developed by anyone of Latin origin. Telcel
Mexican wireless telecommunications provider Telcel was funded by multi-billionaire Carlos Slim, who is now ranked ninth in the world. Telcel is a subsidiary of América Móvil. The largest supplier of wireless communications services in Mexico, Telcel was established in 1984 and is headquartered in Mexico City. It serves over 90% of the country’s population. Using the T-Mobile network, Telcel serves the United States and is heavily used by both Hispanic residents and travelers.
